On day two of the Colleen Riley Holiday Crossover, Fullerton took on Imperial Valley Friday afternoon in the Nest and vanquished the Desert Warriors 64-31.

On day two of the Colleen Riley Holiday Crossover, Fullerton took on Imperial Valley Friday afternoon in the Nest and vanquished the Desert Warriors 64-31.
The Hornet victory now gives the team a 7-5 overall record, while Imperial Valley settles for a 4-8 overall record.
The Hornets flew out with 18-6 lead by the end of the first quarter. Big shots by the quarter's end by Hailey Lakey and Erin Choi sparked the offense. The Hornets continued to apply pressure in the second quarter widening their margin to 36-9 by the break with strong rebounding allowing second-chance opportunities (FC 15, IVC 6).
Fullerton owned the paint and the glass throughout the game out-rebounding Imperial Valley 58-35 while holding the Desert Warriors to just 19.3 percent shooting from the floor.
FC continued to build the lead in the third quarter pushing its lead to 54-15 heading into the fourth. With a victory locked in their sights, the Hornets let up a bit in near the end after dominating the previous three quarters.
Hailey Lakey and Erin Choi, both matched one another scoring a game-high 18 points. Lakey achieved double-double status ripping down an incredible 14 rebounds. Two-sport athlete Savannah Hernandez used her volleyball skills to score 8 points with 9 rebounds. Femi Nodal managed 6 points and Jaylene Perez scored 5 to help with the win.
Up Next: The Hornets (7-5 overall) will play their third and final game of the crossover tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 20) when they welcome Santa Barbara City to the Nest at 7:00 pm.
