Hornets Celebrate Student-Athlete Success!
Under cool 61-degree skies and ideal running conditions, the Hornet runners Zidane Ras and Jonathan Mendoza delivered their best performances of the season last Saturday morning at the 3C2A State Championship meet at Woodward Park.
The FC men’s cross country team had an outstanding showing at the SoCal Regional Championships held last Friday morning at NTC Park in San Diego as two Hornet runners punched their ticket to the state meet.
The FC men’s cross country team turned in a strong performance at the Orange Empire Conference Championships last Friday at Saddleback College.
The Hornets turned in strong finishes at the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational last Friday as they prepare for the OEC Championships.

The Fullerton College men’s cross country team put together another strong showing at the Bakersfield College Invitational over the weekend that was led by standout performances by Jonathan Mendoza and Zidane Ras, who both finished in the top ten.
The Hornets are off to a great start with their season and showing that their summer-training miles are paying off after competing in their first two races this season.
On Saturday, the Hornets traveled to Fresno, California for the 3C2A State Cross Country Championships to compete at the traditional Woodward Park and represented well.
Haily Roberts along with the FC men's team qualified for the State Championship race with a 15th place finish at the Southern California Regional Championships last Friday at Chaffey College.
The Orange Empire Conference Championships took place at Central Park in Huntington Beach last Friday with both the FC men and women's teams showing out.
After a good showing at the Manny Bautista Invite last week, the No. 15 in SoCal Hornets achieved solid times on the Mt. SAC course. For some of the FC runners, it was their first time running the flat, climbing switch backs, and taking on a rolling reservoir hill to the finish line- not an easy task for any athlete.
Putting in the work in the classroom, cross country student-athletes Haily Roberts and Lucas Allen earned Academic All-State honors this past week.
Out of 27 teams competing in the SoCal Preview, the Hornets finished in 12th place.
Fullerton finished in 11th place at the Golden West College Invitational this past Friday at Central Park in Huntington Beach.
Off to a strong start to the 2024 season, the Fullerton College men's cross country team ran well at the XC Kickoff that was hosted by Cuyamaca College at Harry Griffin Park.
