The Hornet women's lacrosse team opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion on Super Bowl Sunday morning cruising to a 13-6 home victory over UCLA B.
Fullerton set the tone early scoring four goals in the opening quarter and maintaining control throughout the match. Fullerton continued to apply pressure offensively in every period outscoring the Bruins in all four quarters to secure the season-opening win.
Brooklynn Peters led the Hornet attack with a dominant performance finishing with 7 goals and 1 assist, while also controlling the draw with 9 draw controls. Anjelina Svorinich added a strong all-around effort with 2 goals and 3 assists, and Melyssa Strope chipped in with a goal and assist.
Defensively, Fullerton limited UCLA B's opportunities and forced turnovers throughout the field. Goalkeeper Madison Lewis anchored the back line with 5 saves as the Hornets held the Bruins to just 6 goals on the day.
Up Next: Fullerton (1-0 overall) won't get back on the field until Saturday, February 21when the Hornets travel up north for a double-header with American River College and Chico State. Match times are set for 9:15 am and 1:00 pm.
