The FC women’s basketball squad took care of business on the road last Friday knocking off Riverside City College 72-46 in an Orange Empire Conference showdown.

The victory evens the Hornets up at 9-9 overall and 1-1 in the OEC, while the Tiger loss lands the team at 6-12 overall and 0-2 in conference.
Fullerton did not waste any time grabbing an early 12-0 lead in the first quarter. Hailey Lakey ended the quarter draining a jumper with 5 second left handing the Hornets a 22-16 lead.
FC forged ahead in the second quarter with a 15-2 run that was capped by an Erin Choi layup putting her team up 37-18. By the halftime break, the Hornets owned a strong 39-21 advantage.
The second half was all Fullerton as the team took its largest lead of the game (28) with less than a minute left as the Hornets left the court with a much-needed OEC win.
Two of the OEC's top scorers put their skills on display in Erin Choi and Haliey Lakey. Choi put up a game-high 28 points with 5 assists, while Lakey scored 26 points with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Chloe Chang managed 8 points, had 7 rebounds, and a game-high 6 steals.
Up Next: Fullerton (9-9 overall, 1-1 OEC) will play back at in the Hornets Nest this Wednesday, January 14th when Santa Ana College comes to town for another OEC matchup. Tipoff is at 7:00 pm.
