WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: CONSOLATION CHAMPS AT PALOMAR

FC opened the tourney with a harsh 70-53 loss to Santa Monica College on Friday. Despite the loss, Tianna Buford scored 10 points and had 9 rebounds. Tristian Johns scored a team-high 11 points and had 8 rebounds.
After the loss, the Lady Hornets picked themselves back up winning their next two games.
On Saturday, Fullerton had a shootout Reedley College beating the Tigers 79-74 in overtime. Monica Hanna had a big game producing a double-double scoring a team-high 18 points with 14 rebounds. Tianna Buford also had a double-double dropping in 16 points with 16 rebounds. Racquel Licea scored 14 points and had 4 assists.
On Sunday, FC knocked off Grossmont College 69-57 taking the consolation title. Buford had a game-high 25 points with 10 boards for anohter double-double. Hanna chipped in with 15 points and Nancy De La Cruz put up 12 points. Hanna also brought down 13 rebounds.
Tianna Buford was named to the Palomar All-Tournament team for her strong play.
