HOT HORNETS OVERPOWER MOORPARK
Hornets Power Past Moorpark 3-1
The FC men's volleyball team turned the tables on Moorpark College Wednesday night avenging an earlier season loss with a strong 3-1 victory at home.
The Hornets (Fullerton) took control early and never looked back winning by set scores of 25-20, 16-25, 25-20, 25-17 securing the win in front of the home crowd.
The victory gives Fullerton a 12-7 overall record and is now 8-3 in Northern Division, while Moorpark bumps down to 9-10 overall and is now 5-6 in division-play.
After splitting the first two sets, FC responded with authority as the team tightened up defensively and found their rhythm offensively in the third., In the fourth, Fullerton pulled away late capitalizing on a few Moorpark errors while finishing off points to close out the match.
Leading the way was Jasper Nadelson, who delivered a dominant performance with 14 blocks and 14 kills on a .778 hitting percentage. Samuel Chavez added a strong presence with 15 kills and 7 digs. Logan Busch contributed 8 kills and 10 digs and 4 blocks.
At the net, the Hornets were equally impressive combining for 34 blocks as a team, while disrupting Moorpark's rhythm throughout the match. Defensively, Fullerton also tallied 38 digs. Emiliano Razo controlled the offense with 36 assists and helped with 2 blocks of his own. Saman Bagheri chipped in with 8 digs.
Up Next: The Hornets (12-7 overall, 8-3 Northern Division) will hit the road this Friday, April 3rd when the team travels to El Camino College for a 6:00 pm match.
