The Hornets had to dig deep on the road Friday afternoon as the team pulled off a 3-2 win over Grossmont College.
The Hornets found themselves in a back-and-forth battle from the opening serve, dropping the first set 25-22 before responding with a strong 25-22 win of their own in the second. After Grossmont edged out a tight third set, Fullerton answered once again reclaiming momentum with a 25-22 fourth-set victory to force a decisive fifth.
In the final game, the Hornets left no doubt. Playing with urgency and precision, Fullerton jumped out early and closed the door with a 15-10 win to secure the non-conference match.
FC's Logan Busch led the attack with 17 kills with 8 digs, while Samuel Chavez added 13 kills and 8 digs. Jasper Nadelson chipped in with 10 digs and 4 blocks. Seth Asaoka dialed in 8 kills, and Yun Bae directed the offense with 40 assists and 4 aces. Saman Mohammed played a big role scooping up a team-high 13 digs.
Up Next: The Hornets (2-0) play another road-match this Wednesday, February 4th at Santiago Canyon College. The first serve goes out at 6:00 pm.
