No. 2 Fullerton earned its fourth straight win on the road Tuesday night beating the Coyotes of Compton College 91-42.
The early non-conference win bumps the Hornets to 4-0 overall, while the Compton loss puts the Coyotes at 1-3.
The Coyotes scored the first two points of the game; however it was the Hornets that went on to score the next twelve thanks to a key shots made by Yoda Oke and Brayden Snith that included a trey and dunk. Without a missing a beat, Fullerton did not give up any wiggle room as the team pushed ahead with a 32-16 lead that was capped off by a three-pointer by Jonas Hanson with just under three minutes left in the first half. The Hornets went into the break holding a sizable 37-21 lead.
It was all Hornets in the second half as the team pressed forward with 63-32 lead by the 11th minute on a shot by Jaqari Miles to put the game out of reach for the Coyotes.
Jaquari Miles had another strong performance with a game-high 21 points just missing a double-double with 9 rebounds. Anthony Smith Jr. was 3 for 3 shooting and 8 for 8 on free throws totaling 14 points off the bench. Yoda Oke also put up 14 points and added 5 rebounds. Jonas Hanson chipped in with 8 points, 2 boards, and 2 blocks. Four players contributed 5 points each in Donovan Pitts (3 rebound/2 assists), Jaedyn Patterson (5 rebounds), Bishop Brooks (2 steals), and Taj Bisong (6 rebounds).
Up Next: The No. 2 in state and No. 1 south Hornets (4-0 overall) will head back out on the road on Wednesday, November 19th when they take on West LA College. Tipoff is at 6:00 pm.
