The undefeated Hornets made it 10 straight over the weekend winning both games at the Citrus College Tournament.
On Friday, Fullerton squeezed out a win over No. 26 Southwestern College 65-63. The first fifteen minutes of the game were a point-for-point dogfight. The game was tied 22-22 with just under five minutes left in the half, and the Jaguars took off on a 10-3 run going up 32-25 on a three-point shot by Nathaniel Pearson. By halftime, the Hornets were down 36-31. Fullerton kept pace with Southwestern in the second half and then took the lead at 6:44 on a three-pointer by Tawon Elston (55-54). Ronnie Stapp's three-pointer gave FC a 6-point lead (61-55) with four minutes left in the game as Fullerton hung on for the win. Tawon Elston continues to be a spark plug off the bench scoring a team-high 17 points with 4 assists. Harrison Bonner put up 12 points and Stapp dropped in 11. Jacob Eyman had 10 points with 9 boards, while put in 8 points with 7 boards.
FC then took on Victor Valley College on Saturday beating the Rams 74-39. It was the first time this season that the Hornets held a team under 40 points. They held Irvine Valley to 32 points last February, and in 2018 FC allowed IVC 37 points. Fullerton jumped out to an 18-10 lead and did not look back as they extended the lead to 37-15 by the half. Three Hornets scored in double-digits in Jacob Eyman (11 points), Tawon Elston (11), and Devin Howlin (10). Ronnie Stapp and DJ Houston both scored 9 points, and Harrison Bonner scored 7. RJ Knibb brought down 12 rebounds and put up 5 points.
