STRONG WEEKEND ACROSS TWO MEETS

The FC women's track and field team had a busy weekend competing in two meets performing well in the Orange Coast College Classic on Friday and the Occidental College Distance Classic on Saturday.

At the OCC Classic, the Hornets finishing 5th overall in a competitive field. Leading the way in the throws was Olivia Yturriaga, who delivered a standout day with a first-place finish in the hammer (132'6"), a mark that ranks as the top throw in the Orange Empire Conference this season. She continued her dominant performance by winning the javelin (100'7") with a personal record and added a third-place finish in the shot put (31'7.25"), which was also a PR.

On the track, Jenna Krostag sprinted to a second-place finish in the 100 meters (12.46), while Astrid Morales clocked a personal-best 1:06.63 in the 400 meters placing fourth.

The Hornets also excelled in the relays capturing second place in both events. The 4x100 relay team of Krostag, Shiann Rivanis, Morales, and Yuvi Balles posted a time of 52.96, while the 4x400 relay squad of Krostag, Morales, Edie Pfefferkorn, and Rivanis finished in 4:21.66.

Distance events at the Occidental College Distance Classic provided another highlight for FC.

Krostag continued her strong weekend with a 2:25.71 in the 800 meters, which was a key training effort aimed at sharpening her 400-meter performance.

Brittany Rodriguez turned in a standout run in the 5,000 meters (19:18.37), setting the leading mark in the OEC.
