The Hornet women's tennis team pulled off a commanding 8-1 win in the heat at home Friday against Rio Hondo College in a non-conference match.
Fullerton came out strong in doubles play with Amerie Johnson and Destiny Lopez battling to an 8-1 win, while Gianna Morales and Kelly Anne Luz followed with an 8-1 win of their own to set the tone.
That energy carried seamlessly into singles competition, where the Hornets overwhelmed Rio Hondo across the lineup.
Amerie Johnson showed resilience at the top spot grinding out a 7-5, 6-4 win, while Destiny Lopez was sharp and efficient blanking her opponent 6-0, 6-0. Gianna Morales continued the surge with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Kelly Anne Luz added another point with a 6-2, 6-1 victory as Fullerton kept its foot on the gas as the lineup depth proved too much for the Roadrunners.
Up Next: Fullerton (2-14 overall) will look to keep the streak alive as they get back into the OEC play at Riverside City College on Tuesday, March 24th for a 2:00 pm match.
