Sophomore Kristal Mendoza is going to the next level after officially signing with Hope International University to continue her tennis career.
A graduate of Norwalk High School, Mendoza played on the Fullerton College tennis team for two seasons and spent some time as a redshirt on FC indoor volleyball team last season under Coach Kevin Hitt.
This fall, Mendoza will join former Hornet teammates Josie Miranda, David Gutierrez, and Michael Lumang at HIU. With a strong support system already in place, she's eager to build chemistry on the Royals roster and make an immediate impact.
"Kristal is an absolute fighter. She has stuck with tennis and really committed to her grades. She was a clutch player for us, and we are really proud she is transferring to play and study at the next level", said Head Coach Dr. Yolanda Duron.
With her work ethic and determination, Mendoza is ready to thrive on and off the court as she turns the page for her athletic and academic journey.
Congratulations, Kristal!
Once a Hornet, Always a Hornet!
