Four Hornet tennis players were honored today as ITA All-Academic Athletes .
The Hornets had six players competing in the CCCAA Championship Tournament in Ojai over the weekend.
The Lady Hornets represented well in the Orange Empire Conference Tournament last week with five players qualifying for the State Championship tournament in Ojai April 24-28.
The FC women's tennis team made the Southern California Regionals as the No. 4 seed and took on No. 5 Santa Barbara at home Tuesday. The Hornets fought hard, but ended up falling in a close one 5-4.
It was the final home game for sophomore Kim La on Tuesday, and the Hornets lost in a tough battle with Orange Empire Conference rival Irvine Valley College 5-4.
The Hornet racquets were on fire last Friday as the Hornets won big over Antelope Valley College 8-1.
Fullerton traveled up to Santa Barbara City College on Friday for a non-conference match and handed the Vaqueros a 6-3 loss.
Fullerton dropped their first match of the season on Thursday at conference rival Irvine Valley College 6-3. On Friday, FC picked it back up beating Glendale College at home 6-3 in a non-conference match.
Despite the frigid temperatures in Southern California, the Lady Hornets have remained hot beating Cypress College on Thursday 7-2 in the conference opener.
The FC women’s tennis team began the 2019 season on the right foot winning 8-1 on the road against Ventura College Friday.
