The FC women's soccer team started the 2025 season on a high note defeating Norco College 2-1 in their home opener.
After a scoreless first half, the Hornets struck first in the 57th minute when Edie Pfefferkorn found the back of the net off a sharp through-ball from Raquel Henriquez, finishing with her first touch to give Fullerton the lead.
Norco responded in the 69th minute with a solo goal that leveled the match at 1-1. The Hornets showed resilience, regaining the advantage just eight minutes later when Liliana Prieto delivered the game-winner in the 77th minute with a perfectly struck free kick that sailed past the Norco keeper.
FC goalie Kimmy Sperling worked a clean first half with no goals against and 2 saves. Kyra Mangini took over the goalkeeping duties in the second half allowing a goal with one save for the win.
The 2-1 victory not only secured Fullerton's first win of the year but also showcased the Hornets' offensive creativity and determination to protect the home field.
