The Orange Empire dominated the state championships held at Morro Bay GC. Out of the hundreds of golfers across the state, COD won the team championship and Leleaga Meredith of IVC captured the individual title.
After leading the Southern California Regional playoffs for most of the day on Monday, the FC women's golf team struggled on the 18th hole and finished the first round of play in second place behind IVC and ahead of regular season conference champion COD who finished 1 shot behind in third place.
On Monday, Kacy Kaichi's season low score of 76 strongly positioned Fullerton in second place after the first day of play in the conference finals held in San Diego with a team score of 330.
The FC women's golf team rebounded from last week's disappointments with their strongest performance of the year at the final OEC regular season event.
Despite Kaci Kaichi's team-low 81, Fullerton suffered a double-loss at Twin Oaks Golf Course on Wednesday.
FC tied for 3rd place in the 8th Orange Empire Conference event at Costa Mesa on Monday.
Led by Jesse Giese"s career low round of 80, FC finished 2nd out of 9 schools at Wednesday's OEC #7 tournament held at Arroyo Trabucco golf course.
Fullerton hosted OEC #4 on Wednesday placing 2nd overall (out of 9 teams) at Diamond Bar.
Once again, the Hornets placed 3rd overall (out of 9 teams) at the OEC Event #3 at Oak Creek on Wednesday.
