WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: RIDING THE THREE-POINT LIGHTNING
The Hornets grabbed their first Orange Empire Conference win of the season Wednesday night beating Riverside City College 77-61 in the Hornets Nest.
With the win, Fullerton improves their overall record to 5-13 and OEC record to 1-2 while RCC falls to 6-11 overall and 1-2 in conference.
Hard play and hitting some big three-pointers (5-13) gave the Hornets a 33-30 halftime lead.
FC completely took over in the second half nailing down 8 of-12 three-pointers. FC's largest lead was 17 points with 1:18 left in the game.
Hornet guard Tatiana Scott had the hot hand scoring 22 points (5-7 three-pointers) to lead all scorers. She also brought down 6 rebounds along with 5 assists. Forward Noelle Cobb scored 19 points with 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Forward Kelli Calton put up 16 points (3-6 three pointers), 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and had 3 steals. Guard Carla Casteneda dropped in 14 points (4-6 three-pointers) with 2 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Yana Pollard scored 5 points with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Up Next: The Hornets (5-13, 0-3) have a bye this Friday, but will resume conference-play next Wednesday, January 22nd at Irvine Valley College (11-7, 0-2). Game time is at 7:30 pm.
