With the victory, Fullerton has extended its winning streak to six games outscoring its opponents 33-9 during that stretch, while holding Santa Ana scoreless across all three games of the series.
FC wasted no time scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Alexandria Valdez delivered a perfectly placed bunt single to bring home Juliana Ursino for the game's opening run. The Hornets capitalized on defensive miscues moments later getting two more runs across to take an early 3-0 lead.
The offensive explosion continued into the second inning when Lisa Villanueva broke the game open. The slugger launched a three-run home run to left field scoring Ursino and Carlie Danovich to extend the lead to 6-0. Villanueva wasn't done as she crushed another solo shot in the fourth inning for her 10th homer on the season breaking the program record for most home runs in a season. The previous record was 9 by Breana Pineda in 2014. The record for career home runs is 15 by Anabel Mendez (2017, 2019). Villanueva currently has 13. She finished the day with two home runs and four RBIs in a dominant performance at the plate.
Toafa Pua added to the offensive surge with a multi-hit effort, while Faith Krueger chipped in an RBI single as the Hornets steadily took over the game.
In the circle, Grace Workman (6-0) was lights out. The right-hander tossed a complete-game shutout in the shortened five-inning contest allowing just 3 hits while striking out 5 and walking none. Workman faced only 18 batters, showcasing complete control and efficiency in the mercy-rule victory.
