In a non-conference game on Saturday, Fullerton hosted No. 15 in state Mt. San Antonio College and were shut out by the Mounties 4-0.
The Hornet loss ties the season series with Mt. SAC at one a piece as Fullerton pulled off a close 15-13 victory in their first meeting back on January 25th.
All the damage was done in the top of the second when the Mounties pushed all four runs through. Isabella Aspeitia got it started hitting a double to left field that brought in three runners, and Sarai Raygoza knocked a single up the middle and a Hornet error on the play allowed the fourth and final run to come across.
Fullerton had a rough day at the plate with Vernonica Moore, Toafa Pua, and Milene Mendoza getting 3 hits each.
Starting pitcher Grace Workman did admirable job in the circle for FC going 7 innings (6 shoutout) with 8 hits against, 3 runs, 1 walk, and had 3 Ks.
Up Next: The Hornets (10-15 overall, 4-5 OEC) get back to conference-play this Tuesday, April 1st when Riverside City comes to the campus of Fullerton College. The first pitch goes out at 3:00 pm.
