Multi-award winning Hornet pitcher Macy Brandl had a fantastic freshman season, and all of her effort in the class room and field has paid off as she has now signed with the University Hawaii.
A first-year right-hander out of Rancho Cucamonga High School, Brandl played a big role on the 2024 3C2A State Champion Hornet squad with 24 wins, 1 save, 19 complete games, and had only 4 losses. In 168.2 innings thrown, she accumulated 178 strikeouts with 38 walks (7.39 K/7), while sporting a 1.33 ERA.
Brandl racked up many awards for her outstanding work in the circle. She was tabbed as the Orange Empire Conference Co-Most Valuable Pitcher along with her teammate Allyson Fuentes after they both led the team to a record-breaking 21-0 OEC title. Macy was also named 3CFCA SoCal Pitcher of the Year, 1st Team 3CFCA All-State, was the SoCal Pitcher of the Year, and was a NFCA Cal JC South Region All-American. To top it off, Brandl was named the Tucci/NFCA Pitcher and Player of the Year.
"We were very blessed to have Macy this season. We knew, with our pitching coach Brian Iseri, he would get her better and ready to transfer immediately. Hawaii pulled the trigger early this fall landed a home. Macy was still being recruited by other colleges throughout the season but felt very much at home with Coach Coolen and the Rainbow Wahines. We wish Macy the best and look forward to her playing this fall", FC Coach Marian "Speedy" Mendoza.
"Macy is a hard throwing right-handed pitcher that has all the tools necessary to pitch at the Division 1 level and be successful. Her discipline to detail is her strongest attribute as she works hard to master all her pitches. She also has a team mentality and will be that player who will cheer on her fellow teammates no matter the situation. Macy is just a fun player to be around with her infectious smile", FC Pitching Coach Brian Iseri.
Congratulations Macy!
