On Friday, the Fullerton College softball squad hosted Orange Coast College in the opening round of the Orange Empire Conference Tournament and knocked off the Pirates 3-2.

The Pirates drew first blood in the top of the first on Ashlee Kean's hit to left field scoring Emilie Lapena.
Fullerton knotted the game up 1-1 in the bottom of one thanks to Olivia Nunez's single to center field that plated Alendy Aguilar.
OCC snagged a 2-1 advantage in the third inning when Hailey Pichardo pushed a single to center field that brought in Emilie Lapena.
The Hornets came back again to tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth on Jocelyn Jauregui's single that got through the left side allowing Monique Rangel to touch home.
Fullerton scored the final run of the game to go up 3-2 in the fifth inning when Arianna Gonzalez poked a single through the left side giving Emily Flores the chance to cross home plate.
Emily Flores (9-6) grabbed the win for the Hornets tossing a complete 7-innning-game. She allowed 9 hits, 2 earned runs, no walks, and 2 K's.
Up Next: FC (20-19-1 overall, 13-9 OEC) will travel to Cypress College for the second round of the OEC Tournament on Monday, April 25th. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
