FC opened the 2023 season with an impressive 3-0 sweep over visiting Grossmont College last Friday night.
In the first set, Fullerton jumped ahead 10-2 before cruising to a 25-14 finish. Grosmont came to life in the second set, but the Hornets remained hot taking it 25-22. The third set proved to be a tight battle with both teams fighting it out point for point, however FC held off the Griffins 26-24.
Connor Stoebe led the Hornets in kills with 7 on the night. He also added 3 digs. Denim Young was right behind with 6 kills and 2 digs. Albert Razo had 5 digs, while Warren Chavez chipped in with 3 kills and 2 blocks. Nathan Cheav delivered 25 assists for the win.
Up Next: The Hornets (1-0 overall) will play Moorpark and San Diego City at Santiago Canyon College for a three-way on Friday, February 3rd at 10:00 am and 12:30 pm.
