HORNETS EARN ITA JUCO ACADEMIC AWARDS
The FC men and women’s tennis programs have once again proven that success extends beyond the court earning national recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with multiple student-athletes making the list for the 2026 ITA JUCO All-Academic Awards.
The FC men and women's tennis programs have once again proven that success extends beyond the court earning national recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with multiple student-athletes making the list for the 2026 ITA JUCO All-Academic Awards.
The ITA announced its annual Junior College Academic Awards recognizing the nation's top scholar-athletes and All-Academic Teams for excellence in the classroom. Across the country, only 82 men's student-athletes received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
Leading the way for the Hornets' men's team were six student-athletes:

Samora Wa Azaro
Brayden Toniolo
Kevin Nguyen
Owen Ramirez
Layden Stimmel
The FC women were also represented nationally as Kelley Anne Reyes Luz earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition for her outstanding academic achievements.
With seven Hornets recognized individually on the national stage, the FC tennis program under Dr. Yolanda Duron reinforces its reputation for developing well-rounded student-athletes who compete with heart on the court and classroom.
