The Hornets took their second straight loss at home Tuesday night in a close 2-1 decision against Norco College in non-conference play.
Norco struck first just eight minutes into the match when Christopher Alvarez slipped a shot for a 1-0 lead. Fullerton battled back midway through the first half as freshman Kevin Castro delivered his first goal of the season with the assist by Andrew Arreola in the 24th minute to even the score at 1-1.
Both teams continued to create chances in the second half, but it was the Mustangs who capitalized in the 60th minute as Alvarez set up teammate Alfredo Valencia for the eventual game-winning goal.
The Hornets pressed on for an equalizing goal of their own outshooting Norco 15-7 on the night, but Norco managed to hold on for the win.
Goalie Steven Martinez had 4 saves on the night for Fullerton.
Evan Courtney led the Hornets' attack with three shots, while Andrew Arreola added four shots, all on frame. Castro's first-half strike highlighted a spirited offensive effort that came up just short.
