Former Hornet Sean Newman Jr. averaged 16.0 points, 14.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game leading Louisiana Tech to a pair of home-wins over Grand Canyon and Rust College last week.
Former Hornet Sean Newman Jr. averaged 16.0 points, 14.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game leading Louisiana Tech to a pair of home-wins over Grand Canyon and Rust College last week.
The LA Tech point guard scored a career-high 25 points to go along with 9 assists as the Bulldogs beat the WAC's preseason favorite GCU 74-66. Currently listed as the NCAA No. 2 D1 player in the country in assists per game at 9.8, Newman Jr. broke the CUSA single-game assists record with 20 during a 108-60 win over Rust College.
Playing in his junior season, Sean is currently leading the country in total assists with 128.
Newman Jr. played for Fullerton College from 2021 to 2023 helping the Hornets to an Orange Empire Conference title along with a 3C2A State championship. He averaged 13.2 points, 5.8 assists, and 4 rebounds a game during his sophomore campaign.
