Entering his 9th season with the Hornets, Tom Maher brings a wealth of experience to the FC coaching staff. 

Not only did Tom follow his former Pasadena City College assistant Bob Moran (current Hornet Offensive Coordinator), but he also wanted his son Tanner to play under former HC Gene Murphy's care for the '07 season where Tanner became an honorable Mention All-American and 1st team All-Mission Conference TE for Gene.

Maher coaches the Hornet quarterbacks and is known by many as a top recruiter. He has coached 28 QB's that have earned scholarships to four-year colleges. Coach Maher has coached 32 years at 8 colleges and served 22 years as an offensive coordinator at 6 colleges.  In his 27 years at the JC level, over 543 players have transferred to four-year schools, 207 of those players to Division 1A, 67 players to Division 1AA, 148 players went to Division II or NAIA and 28 players went to Division III.

In 2006 Tom was the Offensive Coordinator at Compton College coaching QB,RB,WR,TE ending the season with a 6-4 record.

From 1996-2004 Coach Maher was with Pasadena City College as the Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and QB coach. His nine years as head coach ties the record for longevity at PCC. Maher was voted Junior College National Coach of the Year in 2001 (American Football Monthly magazine), as PCC won its first conference championship in 34 years.  He was the Mission Conference Northern Division Coach of the Year in '01, and  Mission Conference and South County Bowl champions (10-1 record). His players and teams have set 29 Mission Conference records in his 15 years coaching in the Mission conference.

From 1990-1995  Maher was Mt. SAC's  Offensive Coordinator, and also coached QB,WR,TE.

Maher has an impressive list of former Pasdena City College players and coaches that are now with the Hornet coach ing staff: Bob Moran (former PCC OC), Phil Austin (PCC player and coach), James Griffin (PCC player), and Ariel Bellofiore (PCC player).

Tom has been happily married to Kyree Lynn (Kochavar) for 31 years and they have two children, Tanner (29) and daughter Rylee (17). Tanner is currently serving as the strength coach at New Mexico State.

Transfered 83 players to division 1A (major college), 205 players transfered to 4-year colleges.

2007-14 Fullerton College... Quarterbacks.

Recruited and coached Darius Banks, Conar Bednarski, and Jose Escobar who set many FC records. Escobar re-wrote the FC history record book, was voted 1st team All-American, All-State, All-SoCal, and was the conference player of the year in 2013.

Recruited RB's Kenny Turner and Kelvin York who became Conference POY.

In 27 years of Community College coaching Maher has accomplished much. Maher's teams and players have more records in the Mission Conference Record Book then any other coach.
