Ula comes to Fullerton College from Mt. San Antonio College, where he has served since 2012 in several positions including Counselor Coordinator for GRASP (Grey& Red Shirt Academic Support Program), Adjunct Counseling faculty member and Educational Advisor for the Arise Program.
Ula has been instrumental in developing, planning, and implementing counseling and support services for diverse at-risk students.
As Counselor Coordinator for GRASP he conducts new student-athlete orientations as well as specialized workshops throughout the year. He also works as a liaison between student-athletes and the coaches to provide information on eligibility status while also tracking students' progress utilizing an early alert system.
As an adjunct counseling faculty member, Ula has taught student development courses such as Intro to College, College Success Strategies and Career Planning. He also works with students individually creating abbreviated and comprehensive educational plans and connecting them to campus services and programs.
Ula played football at Mt. SAC (2007-2008) where he graduated with an Associate degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. He was then offered a full-ride scholarship to Florida International University where he earned a bachelors degree in Sports Management.
Ula's passion and capacity for working with at-risk community college students was a driving force for him to continue his education at CSU San Bernardino where he completed his Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance.
